Seawolves to host 2025 ACAA Basketball Championships
(Saint John, NB) The best collegiate basketball talent will compete for the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) title at UNB Saint John in 2025.
Featuring the top six women's and men's teams, all championship games will take place at the G. Forbes Elliot Athletics Centre February 28 to March 2, 2025.
We are proud to have UNB Associated Alumni as our presenting sponsor for the event. Their dedication to supporting our athletic programs and fostering community spirit amplifies our goal of creating a memorable championship experience for players, fans and the community.
It's been nearly a decade since the Seawolves last hosted the ACAA Basketball Championships in 2015. Last spring the Holland College Hurricanes hosted the Championships, with the University of King's College Blue Devils capturing the win for the women's side and the Mount Saint Vincent University Mystics securing the win on the men's side.
Director of Athletics, Recreation & Wellness, Natasha Kelly, eagerly anticipates the chance to host another championship, aiming to create an unforgettable experience for student-athletes and welcoming the community to UNB Saint John's top-notch facilities.
"The ACAA Basketball Championship weekend stands as the pinnacle event of our conference, showcasing the very best of our teams and their competitive spirit. We are honoured to be entrusted with hosting this prestigious event and eagerly embrace the opportunity to watch our athletes battle for the championship banner right here on their home court."
The games are open to the public, and tickets are now available for purchase online and can be picked up in advance at the G. Forbes Elliot Athletics Centre starting January 6, 2025, during regular business hours, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., or at the door during tournament weekend.
