Seawolves basketball adds Birori Twishime to 2025-26 roster
(Saint John, NB) The Seawolves men's basketball team has officially signed Birori Twishime from Halifax, Nova Scotia, to their 2025-26 Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACCA) roster.
Head coach Paul Vaughan said Twishime has a real passion for the game and will be a great addition to the team. "Birori gives us solid depth at the guard spot and brings that athletic ability to break guys down off the dribble. He fits right in with the group we've got, and I think he's someone who's going to help us keep building our winning culture for a long time, "said Vaughan.
A graduate of Millwood high school, Twishime won back-to-back provincial bronze medals in 2023 and 2024. He was selected for the All-Atlantic All-Star game in 2024. Twishime averaged 22 points per game in the North Pole Hoops circuit and made first team all-league in the NCHC, averaging 23 Points per game.
"Basketball is more than just a sport for me—it's a way to express myself and find peace when things get tough. When I'm on the court, I forget about all the stress and just focus on the game and my teammates," said Twishime.
Coming to UNB Saint John for its strong basketball program, Twishime will be taking sociology in the fall. "Everyone made me feel really comfortable and welcomed. The coaches really care about helping athletes succeed both on and off the court," he said.
Twishime's goals this season are to improve his all-around game, make an impact, and help his team win.
Welcome to the Seawolves family, Birori!
