Bio

Paul Vaughan has been the head coach of the Seawolves Men's Basketball program since 2023. Before joining the Seawolves, Paul spent seven seasons as an assistant coach with the Saint John Mill Rats/Riptide in NBL Canada and 20 years as head coach at Kennebecasis Valley High School (KVHS).

During his 30 plus year coaching career, Paul has held key positions with the Kennebecasis Valley Basketball Association (KVBA), Basketball New Brunswick, and Canada Basketball’s Centre for Performance. His dedication to player development has guided many of his former players to success at the university level (CCAA, U Sports, NCAA), to play professionally and to represent Canada in major international championships.

In recognition of his coaching success, Paul has received several prestigious awards, including:

  • ACAA Coach of the Year (2024)
  • Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal (2022)
  • NB Sport Team of the Year (2019)
  • NBIAA Coach of the Year (2015)
  • Basketball NB Executive of the Year (2008)

Beyond coaching, Paul has been an active contributor to the basketball community off the court. He has served on the boards of Basketball New Brunswick and KVBA and played a pivotal role in local initiatives such as the NBIAA Final 12 Tournament. Paul's unwavering commitment to the game, from grassroots development to the professional ranks, has solidified his reputation as a respected leader in the basketball community.
