Mike Best signs with men's soccer
(Saint John, NB) Mike Best has officially signed with the Seawolves soccer program for the 2025 varsity season.
From Stittsville, Ontario, Best was discovered at the Ontario Showcase. "He brings exceptional technical ability, tactical intelligence and versatility to the Seawolves. Comfortable in defence, Mike is a composed player who leads by example and strives in high pressure situations. He will be a great addition to the 2025 roster," said head coach PJ Ward.
While attending South Carleton High School, Best played on the junior and senior soccer teams, as well as running track and playing basketball and tennis. In the last five years, Best has played for both West Carelton Soccer Club and Ottawa South United Soccer Club. During his time with OSU, he played in several showcase tournaments, including the Youth Canada Cup in Halifax, where he was named to the U17 Boys All-Stars roster.
"My role model is Sergio Ramos because of his ability to combine controlled aggression and skill," said Best. Outside of soccer, Best loves going to the gym, playing golf, and playing hockey.
Best will be studying for a Bachelor of Business Administration, with aspirations to work in the Canadian Armed Forces as an Aerospace Control Officer.
Welcome to the Seawolves family, Mike!
