(Saint John, NB) The Seawolves faced a tough battle against the St. Thomas University Tommies, defending Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) Champions, falling 3-1 (25-18, 25-17, 19-25, 25-23).
The Tommies came out strong, winning the first set 25 – 18 with powerful serves. In the second set, the Seawolves tried to find their footing and managed to close the gap with the Tommies. However, they were unable to finish it, and the Tommies took the second set 25-17.
With good defence from both teams in the third set, UNB was gaining momentum taking the lead and win over the Tommies.
The fourth set was a back-and-forth battle between the Seawolves and the Tommies, with both teams going point for point. In the end, the Tommies pulled together and secured the win over the Seawolves, finishing 3-1.
Next Up: The Seawolves take on the Crandall University Chargers at home for Purple Volleyball Games in support of the Hestia House Saint John.
