Cooper commits to Seawolves volleyball
(Saint John, NB) Finn Cooper has officially signed with Seawolves men's volleyball team for the 2025-26 season.
Joining the Seawolves from Fall River, Nova Scotia, Cooper has been a dedicated volleyball player. He played for Team Nova Scotia 16U for two years and 18U last year. This past fall and winter, Cooper was part of the Canada Game training and has been involved in the Provincial Excellence Program for the past three years. His achievements include winning the Nova Scotia Provincials 16U and 18 U, and he was named the 18 U men's Provincial MVP in 2024.
"Volleyball has been a big part of my life. It has given me the opportunity to make new friends and taught me to work hard, train hard, and pay more attention to my health," said Cooper.
Head coach Dino Karatzios is excited about the new addition to the team. "Finn is a technically skilled player with good speed and lateral movement. He reads the game well and transitions quickly on offense, making him a strong presence on the court. His 6'5" frame certainly helps, but it's his solid foundation from high school that gives him an edge over other middles his age," said Karatzios.
Cooper credits his father as a significant influence in his life. "My dad works hard as a business owner and always makes time to support me with volleyball. When we needed an assistant coach for high school, he stepped up to help," he said.
Cooper will be taking UNB Saint John's Environmental Engineering program in the fall.
Welcome to the Seawolves family, Finn!
