Men's volleyball adds setter Jackson Ramier
(Saint John, NB) Jackson Ramier has officially signed with the Seawolves men's volleyball team.
Hailing from Fredericton, New Brunswick, Ramier is no stranger to the level of play that will be required, as a dedicated member of the Reds Volleyball Club. He started playing volleyball when he was six years old, in the Grassroots program. His impressive track record includes playing for Team New Brunswick over the past two years, as well as competing in the Canada Cup at Brock in 2023 and in Calgary in 2024.
When Ramier joined the Seawolves for a practice, it was obvious to head coach Dino Karatzios that Ramier has a competitive spirit. "He's more than just a setter; he's a very good volleyball player who has great hands. He's fast and has great reflexes, is solid defensively, and makes great decisions. I like that he can hit as well," said Karatzios.
Ramier will graduate from Leo Hayes High School, where he played on the varsity volleyball team. "When I am on the court, I am passionate about playing my best and helping my team to be the best they can be. I love to compete," he said.
When he's not on the court, he stays active playing beach volleyball, soccer, basketball and even spike ball. He also enjoys fishing and being at the beach. He is dedicated to giving back to the sport he loves by volunteering with coaching youth sports, helping kids learn how to read, and organizing youth volleyball tournaments.
In the fall, Ramier will pursue a business degree. On the court, his personal goals include improving as a player and helping his team excel.
Welcome to the Seawolves family, Jackson!
