(Saint John, NB) The UNBSJ Seawolves came out firing on Sunday afternoon, led by a blistering start from guard Llorena Prekaj, who scored 10 of her 18 points in the first quarter. With strong support from Ainsley Green and Avrey Alward, the Seawolves built a 22–17 lead and controlled the tempo early, pushing the pace and defending with confidence.
UNBSJ's ball movement and defensive energy kept the Mystics off balance through much of the first half, but MSVU's veteran core regrouped after the break. Celine Sterckel (18 points, 7 rebounds) and Victoria Strickland (16 points) started to heat up from deep, while Emma Empringham and Kelsey Matheson added timely baskets to spark a third-quarter swing that flipped the game.
Alward nearly posted a double-double with 16 points and 9 rebounds, and Green added 12 points. Maddie Baker came off the bench to provide a much-needed boost with 7 points and steady defensive pressure, helping the Seawolves hang close into the fourth. Despite the 74–62 loss, UNBSJ's first-half intensity and balanced scoring showed plenty of potential heading into their next matchup.
