Women's basketball signs Eden Searles
(Saint John, NB) Eden Searles has officially signed with Seawolves women's basketball for the 2025-26 Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) season.
Joining the team from Campobello Island, New Brunswick, Searles brings a great deal of experience, having played for the Campobello Island Consolidated School (CICS) Vikings in the "A" South Division. In the summer of 2023, Searles played for the under-16 provincial team and the following summer played for the under-17 provincial team, earning the opportunity to go to nationals in St. John's, Newfoundland.
In her senior season at CICS, she was named NBIAA southwest All-Star and scored 1,000 career points. Head coach Moira Gagnon looks forward to the level of play Searles will bring to the team. "She will contribute additional scoring for our team with her strong shooting ability both in key and from the three-point line. This, combined with her size and strength, will make her very difficult to defend, said Gagnon.
When it comes to basketball role models, Searles looks up to Caitlin Clark. "She has an incredible work ethic, and her ability to block out all the negativity and play her game is something I find inspiring," she said.
Searles is enrolled in the Bachelor of Health program and looks forward to learning more about the health care system and making a positive difference on individuals and communities.
For the upcoming season, she looks forward to improving her physicality on the court and becoming a key contributor to the Seawolves' team.
Welcome to the Seawolves family, Eden!
