Academically, Kimens is an honour student focusing on maths and sciences and looks forward to being a part of the community at UNB Saint John. " I choose UNB Saint John for its strong academics, supportive community, and smaller class sizes, which allow for better connection with professors. The campus also offers great opportunities for student involvement, athletics, and research," she explained.
Kimens will be studying Nursing in the fall and is passionate about pursuing a career in healthcare. "Nursing gives me the chance to make a real difference in people's lives. My goal is to become a compassionate and skilled nurse, making a positive impact on the health and well-being of individuals and communities, " She stated.
Kimens is also an active member in her community, volunteering as a swim instructor and lifeguard at the community center, teaching individuals of all ages essential swimming skills and water safety. In addition, she volunteers as a soccer coach at summer camp, helping athletes develop their skills. "I am passionate about these roles because I love working with people and creating a supportive, safe environment for others," she said.
This season, Kimens looks to improving her skills, and contributing to the team's success, staying focused and motivated, and making a difference on the field.
