Palomino joins Seawolves women’s soccer
(Saint John, NB) Leticia Palomino has officially signed with the Seawolves women's soccer team for the 2025 Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) season.
Joining the team from Ottawa, Ontario, Palomino began her soccer career with grassroots soccer at the Cumberland United Soccer Club (CUSC) and has been part of its competitive academy since the age of nine.
In 2018, the CUSC became the Ottawa Toronto Football Club (OTFC), where she continued her soccer development as part of its high-performance academy program. She was also a member of the OTFC team that competed in the Ontario Player Development League (OPDL), the highest level of youth soccer in the province of Ontario.
Since 2023, she has been playing with the Ottawa Gloucester Hornets Soccer (OGHS) Club and is part of the Hornets Showcase program.
"Soccer is many things to me: it is my comfort place, my mental support, and my relief of stress. Through soccer, I have met great players who have become great lifetime friends, and I will forever be grateful," she said.
Palomino plans to pursue a Bachelor of Arts with future aspirations to study criminal justice. " I would love to help people in need and get involved with the community, " she said.
Head Coach, PJ Ward, is looking forward to having Palomino as part of his backline this season. " She comes from a high-level soccer background. She will be bringing her love to compete and win battles against her opponents."
Welcome to the Seawolves family, Leticia!
