Women's soccer signs Avaya Huynh
(Saint John, NB) Seawolves women's soccer has added another player to the 2025-26 roster, signing Avaya Huynh.
From Calgary, Alberta, Huynh most recently played for the Asia Confederation in the Calgary Nations Cup, where they placed second.
"She is a versatile fullback who wants to join the attacking phase of the game. She brings exceptional technical ability, tactical intelligence, and versatility to the Seawolves," said head coach PJ Ward.
Huynh is enrolled in the Health program with plans to specialize in Biomedical Sciences. She plans to further her understating in the sciences and learn the tools necessary to become a surgeon.
She has volunteered as a U6-U9 soccer coach, served food and made food hampers at churches for the less fortunate. She also has worked with animals and was part of her school's student council, helping with events.
"I am passionate about volunteering because it shapes me to be a better person by helping others without expecting anything in return," she said.
The person in her life whom she looks up to is her older brother, who has navigated through twelve years with autism and dyslexia. "He never lets his learning disabilities stop him from achieving his goals. So even though we are close in age, I still look up to him because he has always pushed past people's doubts and stayed kind to others when they weren't," she said.
Welcome to the Seawolves family, Avaya!
