Seawolves women’s volleyball welcomes Longley
(Saint John, NB) The Seawolves women's volleyball team is pleased to announce the addition of Amber Longley to their 2025-2026 roster.
"She has the versatility and skill that will make her a valuable contributor on the court in both the short and long term, said head coach Colin Chambers. She is a well-mannered prospective student-athlete whose academic and volleyball goals align with our team values," he added.
Longley, a Bayview High School graduate from Upper Tantallon, Nova Scotia, has excelled in athletics, being named the 2023-24 undergrad Female Athlete of the Year. Her sports accomplishments include playing for the U16 and U18 Nova Scotia Provincial Volleyball teams, participating in the Nova Scotia Volleyball Provincial Excellence Program (PEP), and winning provincial gold with the Belford Blizzards in the U15 and U16 categories, where she also earned most improved player honours in her second season.
"Volleyball has helped me develop into a confident athlete and team member. It has given me a place to clear my mind and develop as an individual. The friendships that I have gained being involved in sports will last me a lifetime," said Longley.
In addition to her commitment to sports, she is also committed to giving back participating in Girl Guides of Canada, collecting food for the food bank, picking up garbage off local trails, and helping at a local women's shelter. "I learned the importance of giving back to those who are less fortunate," she said.
Enrolled in UNB Saint John's Bachelor of Health program, Longley aspires to become an athletic trainer or physiotherapist for a sports team.
Welcome to the Seawolves family, Amber!
