Seawolves Make a Statement on Grad Night with Victory Over Top-Ranked MTA
The UNB Saint John Seawolves gave a strong performance in their matchup against Mount Allison University (MTA), the top-ranked team in the ACAA. The Seawolves were determined to prove they could compete with the best and did so with impressive individual performances that turned into a collective win on grad night.
Emily Robichaud led the charge with multiple impactful serving runs (5 aces), keeping MTA on the back foot and helping the Seawolves maintain pressure throughout the match. Dominique Gendron had an outstanding hitting night, consistently finding gaps in MTA's defense and putting away key attacks. Amy Carey and Sydney Flower also stood out with strong all-around performances, with Amy's court awareness connecting with everyone tonight and Sydney's always timely kills leading the team with 12, helping to drive the Seawolves' momentum.
MTA came into the game ranked first in the ACAA, but the Seawolves proved they could compete at a high level, putting up a tough fight against one of the league's best teams. The Mounties had to fight hard for the only set they won of the night, as the Seawolves took care of business at home. Taking the game in four sets.
