Women’s volleyball remains undefeated after 3-2 win
(Saint John, NB) The Seawolves remain undefeated as they win 3-2 in a tight matchup with the St. Thomas University Tommies, (25-22, 25-22, 19-25, 18-25, 15-13) on Sunday, November 10.
In the first set, the Tommies took a quick 7-0 lead. After a timeout, the Seawolves returned with a different strategy. Strong serves from Emily Robichaud and offensive attacks from Dominique Gendron helped them recover and overtake the lead, winning 25-22.
The Seawolves continued their momentum into the second set, securing another win with a score of 25-22.
Trailing by six points in the third set, 22-16, the Tommies began to take the lead and find the gaps in the UNB's defence, breaking the Seawolves' 11-set winning streak this season as they headed into the fourth set.
The fifth set was a close one, wit Tommies' Nessa Quigley and Kathleen Boyle playing key roles in the comeback. However, they were not able to overtake the Seawolves in the final set, coming up short with a score of 15-13.
Next Up: The Seawolves take on the Crandall University Chargers at home for Purple Volleyball Games in support of the Hestia House Saint John.
